4 man chess

It's impossible to tell what the future will hold. But imo 4man chess isn't that great.
It's a pretty old idea btw, I have a real life version from the 90's made by a toy company, interesting that chess.com picked it up.

4 man is a silly idea, and not one that's easy to implement over the web. I'd be more interested in non-8x8 chess. Either other rectangular size, or other shapes. And also non-standard chess pieces.

Just my two cents.
4 man chess can have many shapes. The 4 man chess I like is in the form of playing on 1 board, 2 vs 2, where you're not allowed to communicate with your partner and take turns with making a move.

My two cents are that I enjoyed every 4 man chess game I played (in the described form). It is a nice little psychological feature that you have to think about whether you make the move you think is best, or make the move that is understandable for your partner.

What I also love about this is that the rules of the game itself are absolutely untouched, unlike the other variants.

Because of that, it shouldn't be that hard to implement it. You just need 4 instead of 2 for a game, taking turns, and hide the partners' names from each other.

The 4 man chess the others are talking about, using captured pieces from another board, is not enjoyable for me.
I am really looking forward to 4 player chess on lichess if there will be. I hate to play on chess.com so implementing 4 player chess for lichess would be great.
Each take their normal turn to play.
The difference is the engine analyses is on defaut to threats only. We see the red arrows but not the green ones.
Threats are shown by the engine during the whole game.

The player must still find the best move.
The engine only shows the immediate threats of the opponent.

It would be a good training game.
It would be like having 4 players but two are couches saying watch out for this move, without showing the player what to play.
