Apologies to AMADAN

Hi all

I think I was out of order for my allegations against Amadan based on the game encounters in the Daily hyperbullet. Something triggered the assumption - it was I think an incorrect assumption especially given recent data passed on to me from the moderation team - I was apparently wrong.

Sorry to Amadan. And sorry to all.

I do really enjoy streaming here, and I hope i can be forgiven in time. If I do stream in the future, I will try and hold my tongue even if I am 99.9% sure of some engine abuse going on.

It is because I really enjoy streaming here, and I hope many of you enjoy my streams as well, that I write this apology and hope most of you will consider forgiving me - and especially Amadan himself who is apparently a high ranked FIDE rated player in his country.

Cheers, K
get angry about losing a game is a sign of competitiveness.
KC deserves a lot of recognition and respect for being able to admit his engine detection went awry this time.

Thanks for setting the record straight - I just hope in the future you will be more willing to curb your tongue, even when the red mist descends ;)

All the best,

Cynosure.

A word blurted out in a fit of intense frustration is a word to be taken with a grain of salt. I do think most would agree that KC can stay on lichess, provided he keeps his promise of seriously controlling his outbursts in the future, and AMADAN accepts his formal apology.
I think this just shows how important chess is to some players, which is why things can get a little out of hand at times. At least no one can complain about lack of entertainment. It isn't like watching Man Utd, for example :D

If I may suggest that streamers should:

1) Stay objective

2) Have an independent moderator in their chat so that people - such as rondep, a well-respected player - don't get abused, told to 'piss off' and banned just because the streamer is unreasonably annoyed with them

3) Not accuse anyone of anything and keep to the same rules as the rest of the players

The apology concerns me in one respect, namely that KC writes the apology 'because I really enjoy streaming here' rather than because he was wrong. Is it me or is there a distinct lack of contrition?

I am VERY surprised that someone who was in the wrong, should be passed data by moderators to show them the error of their ways. Is this how ALL of us are going to be treated from now on, or is this an extension of the preferential treatment that some say is being given to such high-ranking players and streamers as KC?

It doesn't actually matter whether AMADAN was cheating or no (although we all knew he/she was NOT) - what matters is that KC made public accusations, and that is against the rules.

I hope this calms the tension a bit, but somehow... I don't quite know why... it feels vaguely like a whitewash.
