Smarter time controls for tournaments

<Comment deleted by user>
The time scrambles at the end are ridiculous. 3+2 is short so they could make it 4+3 or something but no increment is terrible.
I agree that blitz, classical, and crazyhouse tournaments should have time increments
Not so long ago, 4+2 was standard. To me even 3+2 feels like bullet (and 10+0 like blitz, I am very slow).
But yeah, I like increments. Especially since I need at least two second to even make the move with my puny touchpoint.

#1 The (largely proven true) theory is that people spend less time waiting for (fair) pairings in small events without increment than with it, since games finish around the same time. I wonder if the same holds true for marathons or other large events...

I too advocate for increments as they attract quality chess and reduce rage... but everyone has their own preferences & unfortunately increment tournaments tend to be unpopular!

#3 Crazyhouse with increment tends to be painful.
i agree with toadofsky and if you haven't noticed Nimzozo there are quite a few 7 +2 classical tournaments. In fact there is 1 right now.
