Ready for the next 'Chess Rave' in Norway?

Get ready for a weekend filled with chess excitement in Trondheim, Norway, with prizes worth 25,000 NOK, including a chessboard signed by none other than Magnus Carlsen.

Offerspill has teamed up with Fuzzsjakk, a tournament/event organizer in Norway known for developing the concept of 'Chess Raves'. The idea is simple: Combine the excitement of a chess tournament with the atmosphere of a rave party.

Sounds insane? In fact, the concept has caught on to the point where several hundred people have shown up to partake in Fuzzsjakk's prior events. This strange phenomenon has become a staple of Trondheim's nightlife, and we at Offerspill are all for it!

The weekend begins with a kick-off tournament at BROR bar and grill friday evening, followed by the main event at HAVET Arena on saturday. The kick-off tournament is FIDE-rated and hosts a maximum of 50 competitors. Tournament link and signup form can be found here.

The main event will be attended by known streamers such as Wirtual, Anna Cramling and Witty Alien. Attendees will get the opportunity of challenging IM Benjamin Haldorsen and GM Frode Urkedal in simultanious exhibitions. Add the DJ sets from six different DJs across two stages, and you have the recipe for any chess enthusiasts' perfect saturday night out!

The tournaments hosted on saturday require no club or federation membership and will be streamed through Twitch. After the 'Fuzz Royale', a knock-out final consisting of the best players from each rating group, the party really kicks off with techno and hardstyle music.
