Puzzles have Glicko2 ratings, just like the players. They win and lose points with the same rules you win and lose points while playing rated games - or puzzles.
It's the best, and probably only way to give puzzles precise ratings.
Love it. Thanks thibault and all other developers.
The new puzzles don't make sense to me. I don't know if there is something wrong with me or with the puzzles! In any case , I stop using the tactics trainer. I won't learn anything , I will even forget what I already know!!
As a beginner, I miss the puzzles with mating patterns. Most of the puzzles I'm getting are positional minor advantages with subtle pawn moves (difficult for me to see or understand).
I've completed 9343 puzzles. My object is to train myself to calculate the variations properly, to undo years of flawed and lazy thinking, dropping intuitive thinking that is mostly guessing because it looks right. For me, it's a very hard habit to break. Intuitive think can be useful for selecting candidate moves but it must go hand in hand with exact calculation. I like the new puzzle format.
I like it as well
I really like them, big improvement. Thank you Lichess!
